First 2 songs forwarded - now what?

So what happens after a song has been forwarded? What has everyone's experience been? Do you not hear anything unless the song gets picked for a specific project? Thanks,Jim

Yes..that is pretty much how it goes.In order to keep your sanity, it's best to pat yourself on the back for the forward, but move on to the next project.I haven't heard anything from the majority of my forwards, but I have heard back as soon as 12 days after, and as long as 1 year. You just never know.EDIT...went back and checked my records...must be losing it.

congrats on the forward!!! yes you won't hear anything unless the company it got forwarded to wants to use it. people have heard the next day and even 2 years later (extremes but possible). there is a mantra here, not sure who orginally said it but it's a good one: write, submit, repeat. the more forwards you have pending the more chances you have of contact from the companies! good luck!

Yes, keep sending material! Sometimes you get different songs forwarded to the same company, I think that's great! That's a way to make your chances even greater! Never give up! If you're good enough, you will succeed someday!

Thanks everyone! How are you typically contacted email, phone? Do they automatically have the OK to place it in something or do you have to sign something first? I'm very curious how this works. Thanks again,Jim

Hey Jim,I've been a member since January, got my 29th and 30th forwards today. So far, I've been contacted by two of the companies via email to tell me that they were going to pass on my music. Of those two, one of them gave me permission to send them more music if I had any available. I've also been contacted by phone regarding one of the songs that was forwarded and we're currently trying to determine if the artist is going to use the song or not. As hazineju said... write.submit.repeat. If you're trying to make a career in film and tv placements, the key to your success is going to be your ability to have a large catalog of songs that are getting multiple placements.Hope that helps!- Big Blue
