Submissions?
Sup guys, finally having my account approved today - breaking my post virginity!!I just had a question, perhaps if you guys could assist me with this:What is the process in submitting music to a listing? I clicked on the 'submit music' on taxi's main page, and it tells me that I must sign up to broadjam to do that, broadjam says that I must pay them 50 bucks to have the privlage - which I found to be kindof cheated after spending 300 bucks for this service which I thought I could start right away, then finding out I need to sign up elsewhere, and wait 72 hours for a song to be cleared... Regardless, I'm here now.If someone could explain the submission process to me, that would be greatly appreciated.. I've looked and looked, emailed and emailed.. not really getting a clear answer. Thanks guys!

For mail, I believe you have to buy your cab fare from Taxi (for your $5 submission fee) - call them with your credit card & they'll send you some. You'll get some submission forms in your package from Taxi, and also a brochure that explains how to prepare your submission (basically, fill in the form, attach lyrics to the form, wrap the form around your CD, mail. For the internet, you need to have an MOB membership from Broadjam. That gives you access to the taxi listings & the ability to make submissions through your artist account page. You click on 'taxi', it takes you through to the listings, you look for the listing, click on the listing number, choose the song you want to submit... and repeat if need be, then go to the checkout and pay your submission fees by credit card.I started out mailing submissions but I quickly got the MOB membership - saves on postage & supplies, you can submit any song that's activated up to the deadline. And I believe the activation for Taxi MOB members is now immediate...Hummin'brd

Re: Submissions?
PS - if there is a listing coming up that you want to submit to, and you haven't gotten your materials from Taxi yet, I suggest you call the office and explain. I'm sure they will help you get your submission into the opp.

So submitting via mail is "free"...if you don't count the cost of the CD, packaging, shipping, and SASE if you want a critique and/or you CD back.If you plan to submit to a fair amount of listings, you'll quickly spend more than the $49.95 Broadjam MOB. And of course it's a lot more convenient.

Re: Submissions?
I did my first year in TAXI using CDs and us mail... made really nice buritos and custom printed cd label... porcessing a submission took at least and hour and a half. I signed up on broadjam last October. I got a rythym going and submitting takes 10 minutes for multiple submissions... so my volume of submissions is up and time is down... that is capitalizing on a 50$ investment in innovation....ArkJack

Re: Submissions?
Thanks guys, all these answers are helping - I think I'll wait until I get my Taxi 'Getting Started' Guide in the mail - then follow these instructions. From what it seems the $50 US broadjam account was worth its weight then - I think that because it's online submissions the fare should be half.. but that's just my opinion. Thanks again.P.S. - if you have any tips or pointers for me I'm open to suggestions I haven't had the luxury of setting up ALL of my music on broadjam but if youre interested in hearing some stuff you can visit my soundclick account @ www.soundclick.com/mattmacphersonFeel Free to pick my music to pieces, I could really use some critique. Take care guys.
