Broadjam Activation Times?

Post by andreh » Mon Sep 18, 2006 2:12 pm

Hi everyone-I'm about to join Broadjam. They apparently have 3 Taxi membership levels, each with a different song activation time (0-48 hrs, 0-24 hrs, & 0-12 hrs). How long have each of you typically had to wait for your songs to be activated, and at what level of membership? Thanks,Andre

Before I had just tested some things with a free site and it took nearly 3 days to activate. With the Pro level, so far, activation is nearly instantaneous- a few minutes tops- if the mp3 is 192k 44.1 and contains no metadata id tags. The first couple of tries took a few hours (overnight). I noticed the id tag thing in the specs and tried again without the metadata, and it has been instant ever since.Aub

Hey - just a clarification - there's not 3 levels of "Taxi membership" on Broadjam. Broadjam has 3 levels of membership and the Taxi MOB is the lowest rung & you get $10 off the yearly price. I was a Taxi MOB member for a couple of years, usually took 1 to 2 days to activate. I'm a Primo member now, activation is instant.cheersHummin'bird

If you have a "rush" situation to get something activated quickly for a TAXI lead, you usually can contact broadjam customer service and ask them to do it right away for you. I did this 1-2 times and they were very cooperative. As with anything, just don't abuse it and ask all the time when it isn't really necessary.I found broadjam customer service to be excellent. I have the MoB membership and it takes less than a day for song activation. I usually try to upload my songs the day before any Taxi deadlines. I posted one yesterday morning and it was activated last night - 12 hours or so. That seems pretty typcial for MoB. I did the $10 upgrade to Broadjam MoB from whatever the base Taxi membership is. I think before I upgraded it took over a day.

Thanks for the info, everyone! Maybe I'll try a test song before the real deal for a listing.Andre

You might as well upload any that you think you might use for a listing. You can always turn them off so they aren't visible except to the taxi reviewers, if you choose to.
