A film I scored gets a distribution deal

Post by davewalton » Tue Aug 15, 2006 10:24 am

Hi everyone,I just found out that a film I scored in 2005 has picked up a distribution deal for worldwide DVD release. It's all small stuff compared to the major films, but at some point in the future you'll be able to go to your local Blockbuster or whatever and pick it up. The name of the film is "Hunting Season". It's a feature-length horror film pretty much aimed at the rowdy crowd in their early 20's. I'll understand if duffers like Traveling Ed, Og, Spariam and Casey don't rush out to rent it right away when it becomes available. Here are links to the trailer (with music by You-Know-Who, of course). It contains some offensive things like a bad word, driving while smoking pot, a quick shot of some indoor olympics, a guy throwing up into the camera, and... um... a teeny-weeny little bit of blood here and there while people run around like crazy.www.DaveWaltonMusic.com/PrivateArea/Hun ... mall.movOf course, as dispationate musicians, you'll only be watching it to answer the question - "Does the music convey the emotion of the scenes?". Have fun,Dave

As a now-officially recognized duffer, I resemble that remark. I assume then it won't be available on Betamax? I thought the music a tad intense for such a charming love story, though, to be honest. Nice job!

Who knows, this old duffer might even buy it...well definitely if it were Hunter

Great job, Dave! What synths/libraries did you use? Sounds like some cool analog stuff in there...With admiration,Ern

Hi,Thanks everyone for all the nice comments. I particularly liked this one:Quote:The film looks great...love the blood, guts, sex, and pot. Can't wait to see it. Oh, i guess the music was pretty good too. That's EXACTLY what I would have said! Great minds think alike. As far as what I used, um... EWQL Gold for any orchestral things you might hear, EWQL Silver for the choir, Stormdrum and Stylus RMX for the percussion, Virtual Guitar for the guitar, Atmosphere for the synths and effects (like the whispers and stuff) and Trilogy for any bass stuff.DavePS - Mick... believe it or not, "The Kiss Goodbye" is also a track from the same film.
