Networking

Post by nomiyah » Mon Apr 03, 2006 6:05 pm

For those who have been to a Road Rally, how many CDs/promo packs do you bring with you? I'm going to the ASCAP Expo in a couple of weeks and have never been to a music conference before. I don't want to carry too much in my suitcase but on the other hand don't want to lose an opportunity to network. Comments?Nomi

Hi Nomi,I'd say 30-50. I went to the 2004 Rally and I remember I ran out of CD's (I think I took 25 in little slim line cases). Most of them went to other Rally attendees, mostly for their entertainment so theoretically I could have handed out less. Trading CD's is one of the fun aspects, though.Have fun ASCAP'ing. Dave

That's about how many I was thinking. Trading CDs with other songwriters is a valid form of networking. Most opportunities I've had are from other musicians. Thanks for the input Dave.
