Turn the music off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Post by johnnydean1 » Sat Mar 04, 2006 12:24 am

While responding to couple of threads, the question of plagiarism arose and my mind wandered on to Writers Block,(not mine, other peoples) and it occurred to me it's something I have never experienced. On the contrary,I can't turn the music off.As we have some serious musicians here I wondered what you do to "turn the music off" in your head.Besides the obvious the only thing that does it for me is swimming.Any offers?J.

Personally I very seldom turn the music off no matter what I'm doing. I probably dream music. I don't want to turn it off, either!LOL

don't blame you. It IS more portable than a radio. Usually has a better song selection going for it, too.

1.) Golf. You can't think of anything else besides how much you suck.2.) Whitewater rafting or kayaking.3.) Skydiving.4.) When all else fails, substitute the song in your head for "It's A Small World (Afterall)" or "Yellow Submarine."Hope this helps! Ern

I'd rather waste my time sucking at something else besides golf. I don't heal as quickly as I used to but am usually up for a snooker if it has to involve motility anyways. I like to read and normally try change stations if I hit "Yellow Submarine" but occassionally find myself in the mood, especially if you keep mentioning it. Anything more interesting than me whcih, thankfully, is not too tough to dredge up.

Try listening to something that's hard to follow for a while (Hindemith, Ornett Collmen, Wayne Krantz, Schoenberg...)

Thank You to all my friends for their helpful and some not so helpful suggestions.I have decided on Schoenberg and Skydiving, both to be carried out at the same time.I find Schoenberg so irritating I might (deliberately) forget to pull the cord on the chute. Johnny.

I think you'll find that golf and skydiving are just as irritable a combination, Johnny. I mean it is very hard not to slice when you are in free fall. Schoenberg might be improved by the physical rush. Ives might work though.
