many times an artist who's interested in cutting a particular song, will ask for a piece of the writer's share just because they can.I've heard that most artists in pop music do that. It's also called "change a word, get a third."Spitny Brears changes a word from hat to cat and gets a third of the writing credits. One of the evils of this business.I hate it when artists (if I may use this term in relation to the following names) such as Robbie Williams bang on about how they wrote such and such a song, or collaborated with a writer....we all know that the crappy lyrics in the song were his and all the rest was someone else.The Funk Brothers were amazing. Lots of musicians (including myself here) struggle to knock out a handful of decent tunes a year, they were No1 hit machines on a daily basis. They should be laboratory tested and turned into a pharmacutical drug for the rest of us.
