WOW user Broadjam reviews are useless

Post by jcreed » Fri Mar 10, 2006 4:31 pm

This has to be the least informative, lamest review I've ever received. I submit the song called "TALL (acoustic performance)" too indicate it's just an acoustic performance by me. I get a review from another broadjam member and this is what it says for bad points...He gives me a 1/5 for quality of hook, saying he never heard a repeated phrase in the song... WTF??? Did you not hear "Being the bigger person, can make you feel small... It's time you take a listen. It's my time to be tall."That's repeated throughout the song. Then he gives me a 1/5 for instrumentation. There is a reason stated "needs additional instrumentation"It's a SOLO ACOUSTIC PERFORMANCE RECORDING!!!!!! Am I supposed to play the guitar, drums, bass, and sing all at once? LOLWow, user reviews are useless. Here I am actually listening to the songs and reviewing them after. This guy apparently just hits 1/5 on everything except my vocals which he gave 4/5 (guess he forgot to hit 1)

Hey I find Broadjam reviews useless too. Most folks don't take the time to comment, they just the #/5 and move on. I get better, more helpful reviews on the songwriting boards I belong to.H

A lot of people score things low if it just isn't the kind of music, or the kind of arrangement, of rthat matter, that they like. Few "user reviews" give space for different aesthetics. So not to worry. That's why I don't bother to have my tunes reviewed.

I've recieved a few useful comments, but for the most part, it's just the number thing. I just try to pick through the BS and find what's useful.

Taken with a grain of salt they can be quite amusing. I had one comment that the kick drum was a little late, which I considered rather surprising since the piece was just vocals and a fairly deliberate acoustic finger-style guitar.Sometimes the comments, when they exist, are useful but usually its nothing I don't already know.
