To illustrate what we indie artists are up against
in the struggle to get our music heard, I present this -Last December, an online music magazine called UNSIGNED featured ONOFFON. It was a wonderful article/interview. The publisher of UNSIGNED has decided to host UNSIGNED's First Annual Independent Artist Awards. There are only six categories for this inaugural awards. As a result of our feature, ONOFFON's composition "The Gift Must Always Move" has been nominated as Song of the Year. This is a very special nomination for us. What I wanted to point out with this is - this song was released on our first CD, recorded in late 1996, and it's now being nominated as song of the year for 2005!!!!!!!A song that we recorded almost nine years ago - it's taken this long to get the exposure necessary to get it such a nomination.Earlier this year, we won the IOM's Artist of the Year Award for 2005 on the merits of our second CD, Your Mind, released in 1999!!!!It only took six years to earn us recognition for that one!It just shows that without the marketing machine of the mighty labels, you have to take it to the streets - knocking on door after door to get your music heard... no matter how long it takes.BTW - if you're so inclined, until the end of the month, you can visit the following page - http://www.unsignedmusicmag.com/awards.html - and vote for "The Gift Must Always Move" as Song of the Year. Thanks to all of you who take the time to click over and vote for us. Happy Holidays!!! Von from ONOFFON

Thanks very much, Midnite and Dimps!!!!I know this is a little corny, but I do feel like the nomination is the real honor. To be selected one of six songs, playing the commercially-challenged music we play, is pretty darn cool... Happy happy!

Total congrats to you and good luck. Always look on the bright side. Hey, you could have had to wait 30-40 years for recognition as some people like John Nash (A Beautiful Mind) did.Glad you're finally making your mark.Cheers

Thank you, Christian! Hope you're having a great holiday season!I know there are so many talented artists that never get any recognition... maybe if bands that go against the mainstream start to get attention, we could breakthrough to storm the bastille...Viva la Revolution!!Happy 2006!!!!BTW - over at this year's International Online Music Awards, we were nominated for nine awards and came away with the 2006 Album of the Year honors for our new CD, Bridge to Presage!!!Step by step... inch by inch...
