Is it a YES or NO ?

Post by slimcharm » Mon Dec 05, 2005 5:45 pm

On Yes or Not listings that are sent directly to the person looking for the artist or music - is the response time generally the same (ie a few weeks after listing is over) or could the response time be alot longer (maybe a year..or maybe never) giving the person looking time to slog through all the submissions?

Once these submissions leave the Taxi office, Taxi has nothing to do with them anymore, they become subject to normal industry business practice, which is: you will only get a response if the company is interested, and it could take a long time. The last sentence above also applies to material that is forwarded for S and Y listings.matto

Well take a peek at this listing..It says that Y or N if forwarded or not..BUT it also says the manager himself is screening the submissions..so wouldnt all be forwarded? The Manager of a current platinum-selling rock band is seeking a FEMALE POP SOLO ARTIST with exceptional vocals, looks/image, style, and songwriting skills. He’s looking for that next superstar -- someone who is ready push aside current artists such as Gwen Stefani, Avril Lavigne, Joss Stone, Fergie. He’s also open to someone along the lines of a Sara Brightman -- but he DOES NOT want Adult Cont. artists a la Barbara Streisand, Celine, etc. The manager himself will screen the submissions for this listing. Please submit two to three songs online or per CD/cassette, include photo/bio. All submissions will be screened on a YES/NO BASIS ONLY - NO CRITIQUES FROM TAXI. For ground submissions, please enclose a S.A.S.E. if you would like a response. As always, we will notify you whether your submissions have been Forwarded or Returned
