why was this thread removed?
what happened to the thread that was here just days ago that dealt with the topic of music libraries? started by dovetail - it was a link to another industry forum message boardit was a balanced discussion of the industry, and had input from a variety of people discussing the state of the industrysome posters were saying the music library model is flush with too much music and that it's very hard to make any incomesome posters were saying that they are still being successful albeit the game has changed and it is much harder nowwhy would this thread be removed?

Re: why was this thread removed?
I'd also like to know why it was removed. It seems that all sides of an issue should be presented and I thought this was a rather realistic viewpoint of the present day business from those of us who are entrenched in it. The music library business has changed dramatically in the past few years. Much more competition, lots more libraries and tons more available music to them. What was true about musical income streams a few years ago is not necessarily the norm today. We should all be aware of that fact and adjust our expectations accordingly. There was nothing negative about my post - just trying to keep everyone in tune with these quickly changing times.

Re: why was this thread removed?
Hi guys,I don't think we removed it. Nobody on my staff asked me about removing anything, and I haven't been on since monday. We ARE getting ready to migrate the entire forum over to our own server and the tech guys have been working here to "line things up."Looks like you guys are relatively new to the forum. Pretty sure the vets would tell you that we RARELY remove anything and there's plenty of negativity in them thar hills. Generally speaking, we only remove stuff that contains personal attacks, and even then, we typically consult some of the community "elders" before doing so. We try to keep it a community, not a dictatorship. We considered a monarchy for a while, but we couldn't find any crown jpgs.If you see other weird stuff happening in the tech realm, please call our 800 number and let us know. We don't hang out on the forum much, so if you post about it here, it could take days before we know.thx,Michael
