First Deal

Post by garrettmiller » Tue Aug 04, 2009 3:31 am

I've been offered a deal from a music library from a Taxi forward about a year ago. Yeah! Does anyone have any suggestions to a newbie? Is there an older thread that gives a breakdown as to what I should be doing at this point besides smiling ear to ear I feel like I've been doing everything I can to just come up with material to submit, rather than knowing what to do "if" something happened with it... I've tried the search function to no avail...I appreciate any info...Garrett

Thanks Jeff for the kind words. Coming from a successful electronic composer means a lot. Barry has been extremely helpful. I was hoping to get more info on this at the Road Rally this November! LOLGarrett

Congrats Garrett.I am in the exact same situation right now and just came onto the BIZ part of the forum looking for the same advice. I got my first email from a library and attached was a contract and a 'talent agreement'. I just wanted to check a couple points out with the seasoned vets around here and don't want to blow a couple hundred $$ on a lawyer just yet. Could I get some similar advice?-Bobby

I know what ya mean re: lawyer...the charges astound me. If it comes to it, then I'll have to (and have been advised to bit the bullet for long term sake, anyway)CheersShane
