I've mentioned it on other threads. Sometimes you have old songs lying around that weren't great songs but you can make 30, 60, or 90 seconds of film/TV instrumental from the backing track without vocals:"...So what I always suggest to a lot of these guys that have songs lying around is to open up the song, drop the vocals, and make a 90-second mix edit of the song.
