My first forward

Post by watksco » Sat Oct 11, 2008 10:25 am

Hi Y'all,I joined back in September and got my first forward the other day. I was so blown away!It was a pop/rock track to <large music library>. I'm new to all of this - I guess I just play the waiting game with <said music library> now.Scott.nhttp://www.taximusic.com/scottwatkins'All That I Want'MODERN POP/HOT AC SONGS in the range of Ryan Cabrera, Kelly Clarkson, Rob Thomas, Five For Fighting, Colbie Caillat, Sara Bareilles, Anna Nalick, Lifehouse, etc. are wanted by an Independent Label that specializes in Film/TV placements. They're looking for original songs with vocals (male or female) that have a very current sound in the range of the artists referenced. It's recommended that the lyrics be universal enough to apply to numerous scenes/characters/plots for a variety of Film/TV placement opportunities. Excellent performances and great vocals will really make a difference - Broadcast Quality is a necessity here. Please submit one to three songs online or per CD, include lyrics. All submissions will be screened and critiqued by TAXI and must be received by September 16, 2008. TAXI #S080916MP

hi scott, congratz on your first forward! There is a big rule here that says you can't post the name of the company you were forwarded to. You'll need to modify this post asap...Thanks and congratulations again.

Hi,WE INTERRUPT THIS PROGRAM FOR A SPECIAL MESSAGEIf you would, please remove the name of the library. In the past there's been problems with others contacting and hassling posted companies so it's a request from Taxi that we generally leave names out of our posts.NOW BACK TO OUR REGULARLY SCHEDULED PROGRAMMINGCongratulations on your forward! That library (that we don't know anything about because you've removed it from your post ) is a very desirable library to be in. But... don't wait for anything. A wise and extremely old forum member (Traveling Ed) once said "Gently push yourself forward" or something to that effect. That's great advice. Keep submitting through Taxi while at the same time, keep exploring options and opportunities through your own efforts. Keep moving forward. Then, usually when you least expect it, you'll get an email saying "About your music" or something to that effect. If you can market yourself to the point that when you get contacted, that you don't remember submitting to that company, that's a good thing.Good luck and I suspect that your music is high quality, given the forward. Dave
