Anyone know the difference between the two? I'm currently using "Artist" and would like more features/sounds without spending too much. Any ideas? Are the piano samples more realistic? How bout the drum loops too?
I have Studio One Professional, and wouldn't get it for the sounds. Upgrade if you need the functions, but the sounds aren't that great in Studio One, imo. You have to look elsewhere for that. Any type of sounds you are looking for in particular?

When I bought v1, there was only Artist and Professional so I went for Pro. If I were buying now, I probably would only get Producer. The main reason to get Professional is if you are doing a lot of collection mastering in your own studio.
Honestly, the bundled sounds and instruments aren't memorable. You'd be better off getting third party ones of your own choice, and that is IMO the main reason to move from Artist to Producer - so you can use third party plugs.
I need to upgrade my "Artist" version to something better in order to accept NI's Komplete 9. Figured maybe I could get some decent sounds during the upgrade alone, and put off buying Komplete for a while (as good as I hear it is).
Thanks Hector!! Wrote that one for a classic surf rock instrumental listing. It was forwarded, but nothing yet ...
