"Pretty Girl Wanna Be My Host" - PUNK ROCK Listing

Post by HowlingUlf » Thu Oct 29, 2015 12:18 am

Hi, ppl! :)

Tried to nail the listing with this one, so that is kind of the big question. Did I?
And any comment on the rest is also insanely useful so type away! :D

Pretty Girl Wanna Be My Host

***

1970’s-style PUNK ROCK SONGS with Male Vocals are URGENTLY needed for a NON-Exclusive placement by the Producer of an Independent Film for a fun, teenage Bowling Ally scene. He’s looking hard to find believable Mid-to-Up-Tempo Songs in the general stylistic wheelhouse of bands like Ramones, New York Dolls, Buzzcocks, etc., etc., etc. Please review the following references for the type of vibe they need:

“I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend” by Ramones: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iS8oYNK73Ek
“Looking for a Kiss” by New York Dolls: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QgZHXF-FaOw
“Ever Fallen In Love?” by Buzzcocks: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=51OB2YoC4sg

Quoting the Producer: “We need fun Punk Rock Songs for a bowling alley scene. It would be great if the song has a theme of love, traveling, or unfulfillment, but that’s not necessary if the vibe is right.”

Please submit authentic sounding ‘70s style Punk Rock with believable Rock instrumentation that sounds like it could have been played in the infamous CBGB’s. Songs should have rockin’ guitar riffs, driving drums, with a brash, confident, and bold vocal performance.

As mentioned in the quote, lyric themes about love, traveling, or unfillfilment will put a big grin on the Producers face, but he’s open to other themes as long as the feel and style is right for the scene. Universal lyrics will work best for this pitch, so please avoid references to specific names, dates, times, brands, and profanity. Please do NOT copy or rip off the referenced artists or songs in any way, shape, or form. Use them as a general guide for tempo, tone, and overall vibe. Broadcast Quality is needed (great sounding home recordings are fine).

The estimated license fee is $100- $150. This is a Non-Exclusive, Direct-To-Producer pitch, so you'll keep 100% of your Master and Publishing rights, plus you'll also get 100% of the sync fee and any applicable performance royalties from your PRO. You must own or control the Master and Copyright to pitch for this opportunity. Please submit one to three Songs online or per CD, include lyrics. All submissions will be screened on a Yes/No basis - No full critiques. Submissions must be received no later than 11:59PM (PDT), on Friday, October 23rd, 2015. TAXI #U151023PR

Link is dead-end.

Check to see that it isn't marked "private."

Ooooooooooooops! :o
There was some weird problem with my profile URL earlier today and I fixed that but apparently the song was uploaded before so the link pointed to the unfixed URL.
Now it works!
Thanks!

It's more uptempo that the specific refs, but speaking as someone
who bought plenty of records back then, it sounds pretty darned
convincing as a late 70s-early 80s post-punk band!

I like it!

Good job and good luck with this!

I'm curious to hear what others think!

And thanks for listening and comenting. Glad you liked it!
And yeah, I tried a little harder to follow the listing on this one so I'm happy to see I didn't fail as bad on this one.
