ProCo or Hosa??

Wow, you guys kick ass! I felt kinda dumb at first writing this because the damn ProCo snake is only $70, but the Hosa is like 30. Anyway your input is SO helpful. Hey Nick - thanks for bringing up the balanced/unbalanced, that was another question I had. Now what about stereo/mono. This is another option in the snakes that I wasn't sure about.

Stereo and balanced are the same thing. TRS - tip/ring/sleeve.

And an unbalanced/mono is only TS - tip/sleeve.In other words Just, a stereo/balanced snake/cord will have 2 black rings near the tip of all the plugs, while mono/unbalanced will only have 1 black ring near the tip of all the plugs. As Nick said, this alone will make a world of difference in the sound levels. Thing is, I recently found out myself, balanced cables cost more than the unbalanced cables, just because of the extra ring...I think I was told??ibanez468

Of course you would never know this from Hosa snakes, since the molded connectors mean you can't look inside.
