Re: Promo Music Return
Hey there,The main thing I realized is that the timing isn't very tight and the overall arrangement seems to lack enough of a specific direction. We always have to be careful about quantizing things to death, but this could probably use a bit to get it more locked in. Also, some of the sounds, especially the horns, sound pretty synthetic. That would be my guess as to why it wasn't forwarded, but you're not far off! Just a couple of things I would take a look at.Just my two cents, nice work,Dan

Re: Promo Music Return
Hi Amos,Your piece is entirely orchestral and thus doesn't really under "contemporary" and "current sounding".Modern Promo music that's orchestral is by far heavier on the percussion, and a good deal more driving and hard hitting. It also usually incorporates non-orchestral elements to give it a contemporary edge.I also agree with Dan that the piece sounds very lose timing wise, I think this is partially due to your selecting some articulations with a slow attack, and they are limping behind the percussion and fast attack stuff. You often have to pre-delay slow attack instruments (sometimes even fast attack low instruments) to make them hit at the same time as the percussion or (higher) fast attack articulations. The FHorn line also doesn't sounds strong and believable, there is a sucking sound at the note transitions which strongly gives the samples away. Choosing a more appropriate articulation there would've helped. But this really goes into a critique of the orchestral mockup, which I don't think was the reason for the return here.Primarily the submission was off target.HTH,matto
