Nomi,We bought the equipment to be able to send vocals via the internet. We are not doing the mixing or any of that. We will be able however to make covers should the need ever arise.Several people asked her if she would sing demos for them after hearing her over the internet. Also we met via the internet a musician that liked her music and they are collaborating - have one song almost ready. We needed something better to record her with than the cheapie system we were using. We put two of the songs from her first demo on two internet sites. One of the songs went to #1 and right now both songs are in the top ten at one site. We have had however, no other feedback from that site except someone emailed her and said they were interested in managing her but we wanted more info from them and havent gotten it. (they did have a great site though)At the other site she got a lot of feedback on how to improve her songs. We learned alot there and think that the songs need some tweaking. However, the producer on those (who worked with her in exchange for her singing a demo for him) is busy for the next few months working on his own album so they cant rerecord anytime soon.In addition though she has gotten a wonderful response to her voice..we also realized she needed a "poppier" edge not so crisp and trained for the POP market..so we hired a vocal coach that specialized in that (thanks for the name MATTO) and she has worked with him for several months now and WOW! She did get 10's on her vocals from her submissions at TAXI (prior to working with the coach)..but she still felt that poppier edge would help her.So she can do her crisp, lovely trained voice..but she now has the more emtionally charged voice also, with more of an edge. She is also working on her songwriting skills. She does live performances for benefits and such but she has not worked with a band. So she is busy...in addition to collaborating, doing a demo for a song right now, she is also a junior in high school preparing for the SAT's and looking at colleges.

Thanks for the update. Sounds like you are doing all the right things and it's a good idea for her to get her education too. She's lucky she has you in her corner.Nomi
