That's the way the two are classified nowadays... same as hard rock back in the 70s (Black Sabbath etc...) is nowhere near what is classified as hard rock nowadays - it's all about learning the new adaptations and definitions. The problem with the music industry is that everything is constantly changing - one genre now has 15 sub genres... the key is to try and keep up with them (which is very tricky).
