Pussycat Dolls

Post by ednot » Fri Apr 25, 2008 12:44 pm

Sent two songs to this listing, but didn't get a forward. Be really interested which of you talented folk got this one http://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_ ... stream=1We had a load of fun doing the tracks for this, and so now we have two more in the bag for other opportunities. So like the Guinness I'm not bitter Just a shame there wasn't any feedback, as this is such a help.

Damn...they sound great to me -- especially the 2nd track "Hanky Panky". Why that one didn't make it, I have absolutely NO idea. Maybe the screener was in a bad mood, who knows. Keep pushing that song -- it's awesome. It'll get placed for sure! I love that one.You go!Chuck

What was the exact listing? I think there has been a couple of "pussycat dolls" listings recently. Went 2/3 on this one:"URBAN POP/R&B SONGS a la Nichole Sherzinger, Pussycat Dolls, Rihanna, Fergie, Beyonce, etc. are wanted by an A-list artist who is part of a prominent Pop/R&B group. This artist is looking for great tracks to write to, as well as full songs with complete lyrics & melodies. One of her producers will screen the material himself, so make it shine! If a great core idea is presented, you may be invited to cowrite with the Artist and/or Producer. Please only submit if you are open to the possibility of collaboration. Please submit one to three songs online or per CD, include lyrics. All submissions will be screened and critiqued on a YES/NO BASIS -- NO CRITIQUES FROM TAXI -- and must be received no later than April 7, 2008."I'd give you some advice on your tracks, but I'm not very familiar with the Pussycat Dolls material so I can't really be of much help.-Steve

I second Chuck. I would have thought at least one would have made it through. I do like Hanky Panky best, mainly cause of it's energy. You probably already know, but there's a regular listing or two coming up next week where these might fit also. I'd definitley keep shopping 'em.

Hey KOS-Great tracks, certainly worthy of a forward. If these were for the PCD listing I submitted to, then Taxi wasn't screening...the actual listing party was. And of course, they have a pretty clear understanding of what they're looking for! If I had to guess, I'd say maybe your songs aren't as much in the "electronic" vein as they may be seeking this time around. "The Weekend" is closer, but its hook is not quite sticky enough IMHO. "Hanky Panky" does have great energy, but the swing feel might have put them off.Or, perhaps they already have several songs for the album, and additional cuts need to match their feel. Without hearing them, unfortunately, we're left guessing.Love your production and your vocalists...are they for hire?If you have a moment to share your thoughts on my submission in this thread, I'd appreciate it:http://taxi.proboards27.com/index.cgi?b ... ndly,André

Thanks so much for all your comments and advise. it is so helpful to have everyone's input !!! I was feeling good today just because the sun is out, but am now grinning ear to ear Sorry, should have put in the listing details, as there have been a few similar ones. The one we went for read - POP/DANCE SONGS a la the Pussycat Dolls are being sought after by the A&R team at a Major Label for the next CD project by this heavyweight Pop act....André - Certainly sounds like you might be right about them having a very definite idea of what they are after, as your track is on fire ! I could easily see this performed by the PCD's. I hope you get the chance to re-pitch this to them as it has all the right elements for the listing. As regards the vocalist on the tracks, they will be really pleased about the feedback from you guys ! I am sure they would both like to hear from anyone with a project in mind. They are however both UK based, although don't mind flying economy for the right project ;-)Once again thanks so much for all the feedback !!!
