Question about forwards/returns

Post by glender » Mon Apr 26, 2010 10:12 am

Is it safe to say that if a song is getting forwarded on a listing you'll probably here something within a few days of the listing end date and if it's getting returned it's probably sitting in a big pile next to the screeners desk and that's why it takes 30 days to hear back?

What's the longest you've waited to hear good news after the listing end date? I can't imagine after ten day's you're going to hear a submission was forwarded, is my thinking correct?

Thanks in advance

It's my understanding they wait til all songs have been screened before anyone finds out the results...forwards or not!

That is correct. The results for any particular listing aren't sent out until all the listings have been screened.

There's a saying around here on the forums, you've probably heard it before, but it goes something along the lines of "Write. Submit. Forget. Repeat."

When I first joined, I remember the excitement and anticipation I felt as I waited for the results. Two years later, it's now become more like "Oh yeah, I did submit to that. Cool." If you can occupy your time with writing more tracks and/or improving the ones you have, you'll be the better for it in the long run.

The listings will be screened. You'll get notified. I believe that what you do with your time in between those two events will have more to do with how successful you are in the long term than the results of that one listing will.

Seems like I usually don't hear anything until about a month after the deadline for submission regardless of whether it's a forward or a return. eo.

The time it takes to get your response from Taxi is completely unrelated to whether it is a forward or return. I find that about 4 weeks is typical for regular listings, less for Dispatch as would be expected.

"So you're saying there's a chance" Can you guess the movie that line came from?

You probably already do this, but check your taxi page (submission history) rather than looking for the email. I have never received an email regarding a listing but it is always updated on my page.
