Questions about forwards
How long does it usually take before you hear something from a submission? How long should you wait before pitching the song elsewhere?

Re: Questions about forwards
Good question!
Don’t wait to submit to another listing. We’ve all had numerous forwards that we never hear back on. While I’m not as well experienced as some of the others here, you could hear back from forward almost instantly or you could hear back weeks/months later. All depends on the listing and how quickly the music is needed.

From what I hear from Taxi TV, it could take several weeks. The screeners won't start listening till AFTER the submission deadline. If there are tons of submissions, the screener needs time to listen and critique each one when they can fit it into their schedule.MichaelSpilnerKirby wrote: ↑Thu May 07, 2020 6:55 amGood question!

I agree with Michael. Don't wait for an answer. The mantra from Taxi is "Write, Submit, Forget, Repeat".

Re: Questions about forwards
1) Hearing back from a submission is one thing: you'll either get a notice stating it's a return, with reasons why it was not deemed fitting the listing -
OR - hopefully: you'll get that all-important first step: your track has been forwarded to the client.
Either of those responses could take up to a month... or more, or less... (see above comments) it takes patience, therefore the mantra, as has been stated.
2) Getting a forward is a different thing.
At that point, it's up to the client/user to 'place' that track. That's when it can begin to involve all the 'business' side of things... so I've read.

I've not had that good fortune... yet. Still being patient, and writing moving on.
Pitching elsewhere? I've heard the boss say, "put your stuff out there to as many places as you can."
Hope that makes it clear for you - those are two different steps.
Cheers,
Peter
