Quick Video of MJ cover by TAE

Post by che » Wed Jul 01, 2009 3:56 pm

Here's a real quick video of my baby boy singing a Michael Jackson song the day after Michael passed. We were just hanging out in the studio listening to and talking about different MJ songs when my brother-in-law "Chuck Brooks" started fiddling around with "I Want You Back" and had Tae sing along.TriciaP.S. For those that might remember, Chuck Brooks is a multi-Grammy nominated songwriter/ Producer from the Stax Records / Malaco etc... days. One of his biggest hits was in the 80's, sung by J. Blackfoot. Patti LaBelle ended up with that Grammy. Boy does he have stories ....

Tae does have a good singing voice IMO and for that age... most of my music students sing totally off key at that age... so I think that that's amazing!!Kel

Very cool!Sounds like he has a bright future. Nice vocals for that age, good ear to hear the modulations and come in on key. I have a hard time with "seasoned" singers hearing key changes.Regards77www.taxi.com/lkeys

Kel,Yeah, he can stay in key really well... need to teach him how to control his breathing and stuff better. Keep saying I gotta get him voice lessons. He has no real training so far. A friend of ours helps when recording. He does have a very nice natural vibrato though. Thanks !!!Tricia

77,Thanks, He is a trooper. I tell ya, he does better than me in the studio!!! He would stay in the studio for hours, and not complain. If you notice at one point he tells my brother-in-law to wait and he counts it in himself. He's funny. I guess cause he grew up around this and sittin in on sessions, he feels comfortable. You could walk up and put him on the spot and he will sing for you and would be on key. Once he knows where he's suppose to be, he rarely loses it, even under pressure.
