WELL GUY'S.....I feel great right now...Took your critique, utilized the information given by u boys & girls on the post..And ran with it. Results....Very happy with the piece...Very happy to be associated with such a giving bunch of people.. .Thanks so much everybody......Jay.. How do I get that 16 : out of there.....I think when I bounced it ,my wife came in right at the end ,and I don't think I turned off the recorder. Cause every time I went to burn it , It ended up doing the same thing.I turned off the recorder and re bounced the track but it still there. Will this stop a forward?? I have the 2:46 seconds thing right after the title..It's always some shit going on all the time..Hope I can straiten it out...Jay..

Here's another example where silence in the recording is part of the art:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/4%E2%80%B233%E2%80%B3Jul 14, 2008, 10:34am, taxi wrote:How do I get that 16 : out of there.....I think when I bounced it ,my wife came in right at the end ,and I don't think I turned off the recorder.Hi John,Tell us about your recording setup and someone here probably knows the solution. BTW: I'm a Sonar user.As for the wife thing: My beautiful wife is always a distraction when she enters a room. Most of the time that's a good thing!! -Al

when you have a 16minute tail, this is when it helps to have a lightweight stereo editor that can just chop it and save.

OK.... Here it is...Have KORG-D-1200....I finished the track...Was at the end of the bounce getting ready to pull back on the throttle so there wouldn't be any fade, when my darling wife comes behind me which she knows never to do when the red lights are on and taps me on the shoulder...Well after 2 hours of fix up on this tune, I almost choked her.. I threw my head phones down after I thought I hit the stop button. Had to go get my daughter and when I got back, the machine was still going...Up to 19 min...I didn't think anything of it till I went to burn the CD and it took 19 min. to burn..I new I was in trouble, so I started all over. First turned off the machine, and then turned it back on and re bounced the track and stopped it at 2:50..Thought I was OK..But on the burn it did the same thing...So there u have it. ..ANY SUGGESTIONS....Or should I leave it to ART.... :PJAY-MAN.... NOT GOOD WITH MANUEL'S..

Whenever this has happened to me on a mixdown I had mistakenly selected a track that was muted for mixdown. This muted track had extended way past the song runtime. You know. The place you put the trash. Way at the end.Perhaps some of your virtual tracks that are muted and extend to 19mins are included in your mix.

Maybe you should write a Stephen King multitrack recorder horror tune!

Or maybe your should unselect six tracks for mixdown to see if the problem clears up. I would try that and if it extends to 19mins I would unslect the other six tracks. Aside from ruling out a bonafide hardware problem it is likely a tracking issue.

Your words seem to say that you were "recording" fader movements during a bounce. On your rig does this mean that one or all of your tracks has now been lengthened by this activity? If I'm right, any further fader work will just be interpreted by your machine as work in the middle of your project, therefore, what you'll need to do is cut the tails off the affected tracks.Just Checkin',-Al
