R-MAN...High Energy / Big Beat Dance

Post by jay10music » Thu Dec 11, 2008 5:02 pm

HELLO GUY'S & DOLLS..... R-man back with insanity.... He trys his hand at Big Beat Dance... HIGH ENERGY DANCE/HOUSE/BIG BEAT SONGS & INSTRUMENTALS a la Daft Punk, The Chemical Brothers, Fatboy Slim, The Crystal Method, Propellerhead, The Prodigy, etc. are wanted by a very successful Music Publisher and Artist Management company that specializes in Film/TV licensing. This company has placements with Sony, Warner Bros., Disney, Lions Gate, ESPN, FOX, ABC, MTV, Paramount, MGM, Artisan, New Line Cinema, Miramax and more. If you submitted to D081023TV, be sure to submit different material for this listing. They'll be looking for both Songs with vocals and Instrumentals, but the performances/production need to be absolutely cutting edge and engaging. This company handles single songs for Film/TV licensing, as well as signing long- term Artist and/or Pub deals - be sure to attach your Photo/Bio if you'd like to be considered for an Artist deal. High energy, uptempo songs will take the most priority for this one. Lyrics shouldn't be invasive or too specific - keep them universal enough as to apply to many different scenarios. No uncleared samples or profanity, please! Recordings MUST be Broadcast Quality, though great home recordings should be just fine. Please submit 2-3 songs online or per CD, attach Photo/Bio if applicable. All submissions will be screened and critiqued by TAXI and must be received no later than December 19, 2008. TAXI # S081219DA SONG ONE..." AMNESIA....Light Delayhttp://www.taximusic.com/download/192473....ns ... al.mp3Song Two...." AMNESIA '..Heavy Delayhttp://www.taximusic.com/download/192482/AMNES ... .mp3Please Choose One..... Or do they both suck... Thank Guy;s...Jay,,,

Hi JJ, Well, personally, I think I prefer the second one with heavy delay, although I have to say it gets tiring on the ears after a while. What my ears were searching for was more deep bass to bring a much stronger downbeat, and I think you could add more of a "tune" on the higher end, too, perhaps? It's a really good start, I just felt it's not finished yet. I hope that helps? Georgie

Hi R-MAN,I listened both, taping my foot .The 2nd one is filling better the space. IMO, I think the kick is too much soft, I would make it sharper and louder and maybe add some deep bass to consolidate the beat. I would too lift up the lead synth which is actually a bit behind in some parts of the piece... Good Luck Friendly,G. (other half of ce77)

Hey Jay,I prefer number 2, personally, not sure which is best for the listing. The song does get a bit tiring after awhile, maybe you need a little more musical/melodic variation in there.Dean

I vote #2 R-Man. The side-to-side panning made it feel more interesting.Cam

Hey Jay! I liked the vibe on this -- you are the master of the single chord song! You can tell it's December.... love the sparse use of jingle bells! But if you're only gonna use 'em twice in the beginning, maybe you should drop 'em. Just a thought.... I think #2 nails it more.... though I agree that the kick needs some beefing up... it sounds like it was really subby, then EQ'ed out so that you feel it more than hear it. Also, you might want to tone down the gated synths a bit after the melodic element comes in.I can hear it with a couple of elements, but I'm a fan of the hard pan on at least the more rhythmic parts of the song.... or at least a slow pan so that it moves with more purpose behind it (if that makes sense).... and with this it's hard to tell exactly what's what... It's not what I would call muddy (but your midrange rules this song), though you might want to re-mix so that you can hear everything more clearly. Also, IMO an EQ is needed on the whole track to reclaim the highs and lows. One of the things that most of the A LAs have in common is their use of gritty distortion. You have some elements, but overall it seems a little on the poppy side and not as "in your face" -- so feel free to crank it up to 11! One of the other key ingredients is using dynamics to juxtapose different sections.... so if you want to put in a sparse, quiet but still intense "breakdown" section, it could sell the song better... especially when you slam their ears as it comes back into the full song.Fun piece dude! Definitely a nice way to break up an otherwise quiet winter day!

Thanks dudes & Dudetts.... I 'm always glad I got your ears to help old R-man... Some how I lost that absolutely heavy duty bass drum...It seem to disappeared when I mixed it down with the delays... I will go back and find it.. And will change up the synth.Parts....Got lot of time to the 19th...Will repost soon...JAY...
