Hi all...been awhile and hope you are all well. I have a question about this ragtime listing. I have a song on my page called The Claire Bear Rag that I would like to submit. The listing states it need to sound authentic to the time period. I'll probably call TAXI to clarify this, but maybe someone here can help me. Does this mean it has to sound like it was recorded on a cylinder...scratchy, mid-rangy, thin? Or all they talking about the song itself...temp, theme, form? Or both?
What do you think?

Re: Ragtime Piano listing
I would leave it just as it is. It sounds like it was written in the period and the playing sounds pretty authentic as well (I always enjoy your playing, BTW!). If the end user wants to mess with it and make it sound scratchy, or whatever, then they have the option to do it to their taste. If you were to doctor it, you'd severely limit it's chances to get used, IMO, because you can't anticipate what kinds of uses it would potentially get.
But I'd call TAXI just to be sure.
Cheers!

imagine if John Williams and Trent Reznor met at Bernard Hermann's for lunch and Brian Eno was the head chef!

Thanks Mazz...hope all is well with you. I was leaning towards leaving it alone... the engineers can doctor it as they seem fit. I pretty much copied the form of a Joplin tune...glad it sounds authentic in that regard...
Thanks again for the input..
