If creating a website is too much to handle, then getting a .com for about $12/year, you can have domain redirect to your soundcloud page. This way you have "worldsbestcomposer.com" on your business card instead of "www.soundcloud.com/worldsbestcomposer". It just makes for a more professional looking biz card, in my opinion.

Great idea Owen! I might do that. still got time..

Done! www.elementproducer.com :D

I hate them. also dont bother wrapping the jackets. people need to be able to whip out your CD and listen to it. they dont like wasting time unwrapping it. these are the jackets I did last year. I got 100 made:

Very cool.

I was thinking of mentioning having a domain as part of professionalism, but thought it might be too off-topic. Thanks for bringing that up, Owen!

The reason I mentioned the full sized CD case as opposed to the thin/mini CD case is that in one of the driver's ed classes my first year, one of the PROFESSIONAL panelists said those thin cases shout "unprofessional." DON'T do it.

The case like Gavin is doing is certainly better than the mini plastic CD case, but it will be a drawback in a stack of CDs or on a bookshelf. It will unbalance a stack of CD's, and get lost on a shelf since there is no readable spine.

It's really easy to have your own website though if you don't want to point a domain at soundcloud... I'd recommend using WordPress and using a pre-made theme that's built for musicians.

This. Digipaks are also nice looking, economical and have a readable spine. Also, the 'no shrink wrap' advice is on point; I keep a Gerber Dime multitool on my keychain that has a 'retail package opener' blade, but obviously not everybody does.

I just picked up a domain name and web site at Network Solutions, I think it' s $3/month for the web site, $10/year for the domain name, another $10 if you want your personal address info removed from the domain name lookup. So, $56/yr = <$5/month. They have great web templates and an easy to use web editing tool.
