Rally Session Archives
Hello,My second year as a TAXI member is coming to an end, and I was bummed to have missed this year's Rally. I was wondering, for TAXI members only, is there somewhere on TAXI's website where members can download or stream audio or video that has been taken during the sessions? If so, that would be awesome for those members who couldn't be there, to catch up on some cool presentations. If it's not already, perhaps this could be an added feature and benefit to membership.Thanks.

So I remember before one of the earlier Rallies some years ago Michael asked his entire Taxi mailing list if people would be interested in this if it was offered at a nominal fee (to cover their cost of doing so). The answer was an overwhelming yes, so they taped the entire thing. Then, when the time came to buy the tapes, only a handful of the hundreds of people who said they would actually bought them, causing Taxi a significant loss. So I think it's safe to say you won't see Michael try this again anytime soon.Besides Vikki is right, the thing has grown so much over the years it would be damn near impossible to do these days.Sorry to be the bearer of bad news...

Re: Rally Session Archives
Thank you for the forum references, Hummingbird. What I was wondering however, is that the cost of posting recorded panel sessions in the form of secured streaming media on TAXI's website would be very low as opposed to duplicating CD's and tapes and sending them out to members. NSAI does this with their monthly workshops, and provides them free as part of the membership dues. They provide both streaming audio and video. Plus, my thinking is that membership would increase because members could have access to all the great information shared at these panels throughout the year. This might prove to be a great membership feature and still keep TAXI's overhead low. I hope the decision-makers for TAXI's website would look into this for future improvements. Thanks.

Why don't you shoot TAXI an email with this suggestion? (They'd still have to pay someone to do the work of recording the many panels for 3 full days.)
