I really like this just the way it is, i listened to it several times, it just gets better, of course i only write lyrics so i may not be the one to give advice about the music itself, but i know what i like, and this one hits home with me......

It's a great song. The production is also up to snuff I think.I have only a couple of concerns, but that could also be my headphones... Production wise it came across as a tad bit bright. Especially the lead vocal, or the fx on the lead vocal. You might consider a de-esser on the lead, or perhaps a de-esser between the lead and the send to the echo and reverb. This way these fx won't respond to excessive 's', while keeping the lead vocal away from de-essing artefact's, which sometimes can be tricky dealing with.

Hey Songwriter-I like this tune - great big, catchy chorus...perfect for the Coldplay/Snow Patrol/Keane listings.Your mix is good, but the lead vocal still needs lots of help - it has way too much upper midrange and top end frequency content. I agree with upeters that some de-essing, or better yet, a series of multi-band comps along with some surgical EQ's, or better yet, some room treatment and a better mic, could help things along. This has been an issue with all your mixes, and it's really holding them back IMHO...I hope you get it sorted out to take your stuff to the next level.Andre

It's hard to tell without hearing it back-to-back with the other version, but the vocal seems less problematic (though still not quite where it should be). It's not dull by any means!Really is a good mix overall; great energy and definition.Andre

Another good song. I like the arrangement, and the feel of the song. The vocal does sound better since you tweaked it. Nice job.

Hey songwriter, Now it's much, much better. Way to go! I liked the song from the start, but it keeps growing on me. It's a beautiful piece. The vocals are still a tiny bit too bright, but really not to the point where it gets annoying, or something to get too worried about. I also think the overall mix was a bit less bright, right (or was it just the vocals doing that)? I still have one concern though, but this is nit picking In my ears the harmonizing fx on the lead vocal sounds a little dated . I know a lot of super-duper productions in the late 80's and up to the mid 90's had that effect on practically everything, including guitars. I got one of them Eventide HD3000 harmonizers for my studio in 1995 and loved that effect and put it on everything. I soon got very tired of that sound though, and that is maybe partly why I have a problem with those fx What I mean is, that the "flavor of the month" really seems to be upfront, in yer face lead vocals, nice and crisp - I love that. (But, now, it seems like over compression is hot (far-fetched pun intended), well - nobody wants that either) Keep up the great work, though!

But hey, what do I know? I live in frigging Sweden for god's sake! That's as close to the end of the world as you can get... This effect might have been back in fashion for the last 2-3 years without me knowing
