Re: How Many TAXI Members are There, Last 4 Years?
Quote:Looking at a couple pages from the members list, what do you think, 5,000, 10,000, more?Looking at the success stories forum, there's only 34 success posts in the last 4 years. What's wrong with this scenario? Accurate? Most placements never post their success in the forum? 98% of the songs suck? I would think that anyone with some success owes it to everyone to post it. Don't get pissed, I'm only trying to get some answers and what better place to get them????Speaking of sucking, I know personally that for every 30 songs I write, maybe one is decent. The rest? Well......I'm sure my English Bulldog gets a good laugh.....hi.. I think there's about 10,000 Taxi members. There are 4,000 people on this forum, some are Taxi members, some are former Taxi members, some are wanna-be Taxi members, some are would-never-join Taxi members, and some are I-got-my-money-back-cause-it's-a scam members. There are Taxi members who don't have computers and get their listings by mail. There are Taxi members who don't know about the forum. There are Taxi members who could care less about the forums. Taxi does ask their members to let the office know when they make a deal... but if the songwriter doesn't tell Taxi, they wouldn't know.OTOH I don't think there's a million deals being made. I think the truth is that the bar is very high, a small numer of people get forwarded for every listing, and an even smaller number of people (maybe one) get a deal for each listing, maybe not. No songwriter has an obligation to tell other members if they get a deal. I mean, it would be nice if they did, but they don't. The "I got a Forward" section and the "Success Stories" section are totally voluntary. We should thank those who post there (expecially with links) as it is very educational to hear what made the grade.http://www.taxi.com/abouts/successdeals ... cess-index

PS - most pro songwriters say they get one hit out of 50 or 100 songs.
