Re: Karma
Bravo Casey! You all probably read about our bad ice storm a couple of weeks ago, We lost power for several days. There was no problem keeping warm (wood stove), but no water (well). Anyway, I came home from work, walked up the icy driveway in the bright moonlight, and heard a "Help me" from the shadows by the neighbor's dark trailer. It was 'Lefty', so named because his right arm was blown off in an electrical accident. Also screwed up his back, leaving him half lame. The poor bastard spends his days stoned and drunk, waiting to die. He was laid out on the ice by the driveway, with only a leather coat half on. No idea how he got there, and he wasn't coherent. LSS, I half carried, half coerced him to the door--which, luckily, was unlocked--and piled him in. There was coals in the fireplace, and it was warm, so I left. The rest of the tribe came home later. As I was making my third trip to the woodshed in that gorgeous moonlight, the power came on. Might be coincidence...
