Hey Mark, I'm sure that's true. I was pretty beat. That actually doesn't really have any EQ at all, so the feedback was right on. I did a couple more A/B mixes and let them rest overnight, and sent on a new version to the library. They were pretty happy with it.

Good advice on the writing, I'm doing a bit more with the one I'm currently working on.

Did you find that Masterclass worthwhile? I have gotten a bunch of ads for that one and the Hans Zimmer one and was curious about them.

Also, amusingly, I spent a ton of time writing melodies and hooks for the batch that they didn't like. They really liked this one once I EQd it. Cie la vie. :P

It was overpriced but worth watching I'd say.

Some of it was quite basic at times but kinda good to go back to basics in many ways.

The big takeaway was that although he's sold lots of records and played some massive concerts , he's not a musician in the traditional sense. I came to music as something else to do with computers in the early 90s so I haven't any formal training either ...everything I do is by ear so I don't read music or anything..it makes far more sense to me on a grid on a computer screen so t's nice to someone doing well who is the same.

The Hans Zimmer one sounds interesting but I fear it would be over my head in terms of music theory type stuff.

Mark
