Return for Alt Rock instrumental

Post by beesea » Fri Oct 23, 2015 3:11 pm

I submitted my tune "Deeper" for the listing below. Thought I had this one, but it's a return. It was a Y/N listing, so not much feedback, but the screener did say:
"The piece lacked a well developed melody that added contrast and dynamics to the track overall."

If you have a moment to listen, and are familiar with the reference tracks - any thoughts on how I might accomplish this without being " too busy or frenetic, as it could step on a scene’s dialog"? Just trying to figure out how busy is "too busy" :) Any feedback appreciated!

"Deeper" is on my taxi page: www.taxi.com/bobcrow

EDGY, ALT ROCK INSTRUMENTALS with ELECTRO elements are needed by the Creative Director of a great Music Library with a very long and impressive list of placements in Feature Films, TV Shows, and Commercials. They need well-crafted, Mid-Tempo Instrumentals that could be heard on the same playlist as acts like Imagine Dragons, AWOLNATION, Muse, etc., etc., etc. Take listen to the following references to get an idea of the type of Instrumentals they need: “Radioactive” by Imagine Dragons: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ktvTqknDobU “Sail” by AWOLNATION: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tgIqecROs5M “Madness” by Muse: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ek0SgwWmF9w Please submit Instrumental Tracks with attention-grabbing electronic bass, hook-filled synth lines, a big chorus section that’s instantly engaging. Electronic elements are recommended, but this doesn’t mean to submit an EDM Track. They still want it to ROCK! Your submissions should be built around a central motif, while building energy as the track progresses. Don’t submit anything that’s too busy or frenetic, as it could step on a scene’s dialog. All submissions should be at least two minutes long. Faded endings are not recommended, go with buttoned/stinger endings Easy edit points are also a plus. Broadcast Quality is needed (great sounding home recordings are fine). They offer an EXCLUSIVE deal. You’ll split all upfront sync fees 50/50. The Publisher will get 100% of the Publisher’s share, and you’ll get 100% of the Writer’s share. You must own or control your Master and Copyright. Since this is an EXCLUSIVE deal, please be sure the material you submit for this pitch is NOT already signed with any other Libraries or Catalogs. Please submit one to three Instrumentals online or per CD no later than 11:59 PM (PDT) on Thursday, September 17th, 2015. TAXI #U150917AR
