Return on dance/electronica instrumental

Meant to post this the other day, as another "here's an instructive return" type post. My track "Just Don't Stop" was returned for listing Y130604DI:

DANCE/ELECTRONICA INSTRUMENTALS in the style of Swedish House Mafia, Eric Prydz, Calvin Harris, etc., are needed by the Owner of an Independent Music Publishing Company that specializes in Film/TV placements. While keeping with the typical EDM style of today, they're looking for something pushing the envelope in terms of uniqueness; songs that put a cool twist on the current production techniques of this genre. Submit high-energy songs that make the listener want to get up and dance! Mid-to- uptempo only.

The "other" box was checked, with the comment, "I like the usage of the electric bass."

In any case, I felt that I sort of made a hash of the mix on this one anyhow, along with a few questionable arrangement decisions, so I'm not too disappointed. Just thought I'd throw this out there.

dude! is that you playing real bass? that is tight man!

Ha! I wish! It's a sampled slap bass, probably Logic's stock samples. I think I also doubled the "slap" notes with a synth to soften them and make the pops feel sharper.

Hey Nick, great job on that song... I love the bass line too (even if you didn't play it). I also loved the fact that you kept it within the 3m range and had a definite song structure, it kept me interested all the way to the end.
