Revisiting Hours
Revisiting HoursThe night is still and quiet, as I tip another quartI close my eyes and visit, a love on life supportCos when moonlight’s a phantom, above the water towerAnd clock hands choke my dreams, those are revisiting hoursI still see her taxi, slip slowly to the nightMaybe she’d never have left me, if I’d left her satisfiedNow when shadows hide in corners, shaking there like cowardsWhen whispers haunt my hallway, those are revisiting hoursCos mornings and afternoons, won’t let me in the roomWhere her sweet nothings turned sourBut light and alchohol, are swallowed up by nightfallSo those are my revisiting hoursThough I drop in nightly, from my drinkin’ chairMem’ries I come to see, don’t even know I’m thereYet I can’t pull the plug on, all that once was oursCos all I have to live for, are my revisiting hours©2007 Robert George
