Rode K2 mic deal!

Post by ernstinen » Mon Sep 15, 2008 11:32 am

Hey all,I've never owned a good large diaphragm condenser mic (always rented them), but Rode is doing an incredible deal on their K2 mic that many people compare to the fabulous Neumanns. Here's the deal: Buy a K2 by the end of September, and they'll give you an M3 small diaphragm condenser for FREE! That's about $1200 of mics for about $699 street price. For their terms and conditions, visit:www.rodemic.com/freem3My birthday is September 28, and that would be a GREAT present!Ern

I bought a K2 Friday after seeing this thread. Sam Ash has a 45 day absolute satisfaction guarantee.I won't be returning it.I own a few well-known mics, including a Neumann TLM 103 and U87, a couple from AKG, Sennheusers, Shure, SounDelux, and the Rode NT4 Stereo mic, among others. I mention these, because the K2 stands up to any of them. And has more possible uses than many of them. It is a three pattern mic, tube powered, and sounds ENORMOUS.I have plugged it through 3 different pre-amps so far, from Buzz Audio, Avalon, and Aphex. This mic sounds great no matter what you do to it. Loud, full of clarity and punch.I have not yet tried it straight into the mixing board, but plan to soon. All of my work thus far has been on spoken word vocals, which is my real job.If you are considering this one, I recommend it very much. The free M3 is a nice bonus, but I think this mic is worth its cost regardless.
