Roll On In the Rain
I teamed up with my co-writing buddy, (we made this demo back before Christmas), Steve Davis, and we wrote a song called "Roll On In the Rain." He wrote the bridge and the melody for it, and I wrote the rest of the lyrics. I'm a little bit country, and Steve's a little bit rock and roll, but after listening to some Randy Roger's tunes, I think our blend of styles might work here. I wonder if y'all think this was okay for the listing...I already submitted it. The Randy Rogers band seems more alt-country to me, even though they was listed in the regular country listings...and don't be shy about giving honest opinions if you do give it a listen...you know I welcome that. http://www.taximusic.com/hosting/home.php?userid=2572

It´s good and catchy but I get a feeling it´s a bit out of synch in parts of the song. Good song though, good luck.Göran

howdy Chits! I hope you have been feelin better these's days! This song really seems to cross genres between verse and chorus~im wondering about the reverb for the main vocals..i wonder how they would sound more 'tight' with out the diffusionof the 'verb~there are some muddy frequencies here and there that couldmaybe use some sniping ~(thats been on my mind these days as im also trying to snipe: )wishing you more well than well, Chits!

Hi there!I like this song a lot. I particularly like how unique the melody in the chorus is, it really took me by surprise. I think the production could use some fixin'. I'd consider building this from the ground up with more traditional country, country rock drum and bass patterns; give it a strong foundation. Have the drums play more meat-n-potatoes and less fills.Vox are a bit pitchy in places. Comp'ing from multiple takes is your friend there. great song, thanks for sharing it!Erich

Re: Roll On In the Rain
i like this Chits, but...i don't like the vocals or this mix much, pretty rough, but i like the general structure of the verses and chorus===interesting genre, not sure what, can't hear country really, almost a retro country/pop feel... only other comment is it has potential, and i'd shorten the tune, but won't tell you where, it just seemed to lag on a bit.all the best,wh

Hey Janet, good to see you here. I do like your blend of styles, which seem to vary throughout the song! You hinted at a listing, but I don't recall it so have a hard time evaluating against that. Was it a song pitch? I ask because this version doesn't sound BQ to me and I think you'd need a better vocal performance and tighter instruments to truly sell this as a demo. It's a very ambitious and interesting song, but might be tought to classify.Good luck with it!Vince

Hey Janet! This is a cool song but needs a production makeover. It needs to be tightened up a lot. The drums need a lot of work before you consider anything else, that's the foundation of the song and if they are not tight everything else will crumble.

Re: Roll On In the Rain
Hey, thanks Geoff, Erich, Warren, Vince and Bill for all your thoughts and suggestions...I am really giving them some thought. I always appreciate your honesty......glad your telling me things that will benefit the song. Yes, Vince, this was a country artist pitch for The Randy Rogers Band. I've already submitted it...think that's what you were asking. I'm gonna be gone from the forum for a while, so if anyone leaves a critique, and I don't answer it, just know that everything is always appreciated. I know it takes a lot of time.....I want to work on a You Tube project I've been thinking about, and it's gonna require a bite of time out of my day. Thanks once again folks!See you guys in the future!

Re: Roll On In the Rain
hi Chits...I'm really not familiar with this genre but here's my feel...I think composition wise this song is pretty cool... production wise might have a little bit to fix... hmmm...44 sec mark... vocal is a little pitchy at that area...What really stands out for me in this piece is the guitar parts and bassline... real cool... just MHO.Also, all the Best with Ur You Tube project!Peace is Cool,Kel
