Hi rNice to meet you. Don't think we have met.I am the (untalented) old fart around here who still tries to rock and roll ocasionally.I am a NY fan as well and can't hear that at all. Funny how that works.Anyhow, hope to hear some of your tunes in the future.SincerelyPaul

I think you definitely have talent!I listened through a number of your songs on your page. I liked the feel and the guitar playing, the creativity. Honestly, if you had the luxury of a professional producer and engineer, and you polished some of those tunes even more, they'd really sparkle! Good job!Plus, I can tell from your posts you are a great, goodhearted guy. That's even more important than the music we all do, eh?Keep playing and having fun in that studio!Glenn

GlennVery kind words, thank you.No one else has ever commented on other songs from the site except the one highlighed on the forum.I have tried to include some variety from childrens song to rock. I think the balads work the best.I am going to take one of my favorites and have it mastered. Want to see the difference. The expense is no longer a factor:) Have to look around.I have not cultivated many friends in my lifetime,(except my wife) but am finding some here. Thanks again for the confidence builder, it meant a lot to me.ps I think my fav of yours is "a change is gonna come"SincerelyPaul

Hi PaulYou might have the start of something that could end up as a 60's psychedelic era replacement track. The guitar riff sounds like Jimi Hendrix's Purple Haze (not sure if a little too much). Go with the flow. You see a lot of listings for 60's sound-alike tracks.Best, Casey

Re: rough rock demo..poor attempt, I know
very nice guitar work paul, the whole start is way cool.now you know what i'm going to say, but i'm gunna say it again: (and i love you dude, so toss it aside if you don't like what i'm gunna say). but there are TWO main things in life that took awhile to learn for me, 1) is that i don't lie (i may be WRONG AND NOT KNOW IT)--but there is no reason, unless it's to save your life--and 2) all my cards are always on the table. why not? what the hell do we have to lose by sharing our opinions? i have to laugh at some folks reaction when i say i LOVE to talk politics and religion--hel why would we pull two of the most interesting topics in life off the discussion list? --please please, finish a song, for US FRIENDS if nobody else, but more importantly for you. and post it.--stop being so damned self depricating--even I'M GOING to the damn rally for the first time, and it might be my last, and i can't play more than a few chords and sometimes can write a lyric just good enough for taxi to bitch about it! taxi doesn't forward me, and i think it's NOT because my music is poorly crafted. DO NOT BE IN TREPIDATION over posting stuff. but you need to finish it first...if i can muster the courage, so can you to finish a tune and post it.--you DO have talent, but it does seem you lack CONFIDENCE in sharing your work--that's what we're here for hell, it's easier to post and see what folks say than get up on stage, no?--and based on what i think you've said, you HAVE been on stage. i've got stage fright, that and planes are my biggest fears in life, but that's founded in the fact that i am not musician! so can't play worth a frig! the plane thing is just damned baggage of life--hey, good pun... --forget the "OLD thing", many on this board are "old", but writing knows no age--it may not always "fit" a younger and my opinion mediocre and getting mediocre-er everyday world, but unique will come back into style!! hell, if it don't MANY OF US HERE are wasting our time, but at least it can be QUALITY time man...--and on "time" itself, you are retired i think, so am i--do you know how many on this board have to still work at $$ jobs to be able to come home and CREATE? that's it for the sermon today, and i wanted to share it with our friends out there, because i think YOU are too important here, there and everywhere for us to listen to the negative vibes and self defeat language. yeah, i bitch and moan ALL the time (LOL) about my lack of "success" on taxi, but you know what? F-them. i won't quit, AND i find the time to yell at/love my teens, love my wife, do the friggin' yard work, etc.sooooo...i personally do not want to hear you down-mouthing your work anymore. but i DO want to hear more of your MUSIC. and i bet there are many more than heinsite that think the same thing if they've gotten to "know" you through the boards.in love and caring, all the best, your friend over the airwaves (uh, until you read this anyway....LOL). i trust you'll take it the right way...warren

Re: rough rock demo..poor attempt, I know
CaseyTo this day I don't have the courage to play Hendrix stuff. At least not in public. I do play "foxy lady" on occasion.Psychedelic? hmmm....I do take LSD (light sugared drinks).Best to you CaseyWarren I feel bad you took that much time on lil ole me. Seriously, I could cry.You have a lot of love. It's funny how friends can sense when one is losing a little confidence.Finishing a song has been a real problem. I wish I would have know about chorus positioning, bridges etc before the first song was born. Very hard to go back.Memebership is up in a couple months and I have to get one forward before then. I have only submitted "gasy Rudolph" so far. (Geo dared me)The rally sounds good, but I do not do well around a ton of people. (nothing to do with the bucks) In fact I have to play a reception tonight and am a little apprehensive to say the least.Vikki...this is just the boost I neededbless you guysPaul

Paul,I like your versatility. Everything from fun kids songs like "Riding on a Camel", to a couple that sounded like early Jefferson Airplane to me.You've got talent. Just make sure you polish and refine and finish. I have the same issues! Too often I just get tired of a tune before it's finished and walk away from it. It helps to have several, in different genres going, so I can switch around and stay interested.
