sad eyes

Post by feaker66 » Wed Oct 07, 2015 6:31 pm

I placed the two first lyrics lines on facebook and asked my friends to help write a song. Most were shy and pm'd me, but all the words came from them:)

Just a strumming acoustic, bass and vocal.

Very interesting way to make a song. All lyrics and song done in two days

Sad eyes

I saw her sitting on a playground toy… staring off to the sea
I walked on over and caught her eyes…. do you want some company
She said nothing and turned away…. not at all impressed with me

Her eyes were pretty but the pain was there ..something bad she’d been through
I tried again but her head went down she whispered how do I know you
I said I’d like to talk to someone, maybe you, cuz I have been hurt too

Sad eyes I wanna take away your pain
Sad eyes It doesn’t have to always rain

She said do you like the sea (I saw a sparkle in her eye) do you wanna walk with me
I’z too excited to deny I’ll tell you my story I’ve been whispering to the sea

This version's great.

I also like the Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers version.

Killer song!

Gives me the feeling of a New England ghost story.

Great job all around! Congrats!

Paul,

The 'not at all impressed with me' gave me a nice laugh!

It's a very sweet sounding song.

Great bridge.

I might be tempted to bring the lead vocal down by 1 to 1.5 dB's.

John

Burpo Hi bud I knew there was another sad eyes turn the other way, but not by Tom Petty. I just feel obligated to post a new song to prove I can still do this ;)

John Yes the vox was too loud. I went back in an manually lowered the high spikes. I should sing with a compressor on. I have one for that. The last song was a rocker, so back to the ballad again. ha ha Keeps me goin

Thanks you both for stopping by

Sincerely

Paul
