I have a song called "Bible Belt Man" . It's at the "country" end of my songwriting spectrum. I laid it down once and haven't gotten the time to re-cut it. I felt like the song is good, but the recording has a couple issues and I wanted someone with Nashville experience to gauge whether or not it could be pitched at that level (ie, is it compelling in its current form) I also wanted to know the reviewer's take on where a song like this would be positioned in the market -genre, etc.
First I made a list of all the things I thought about the tune. Figured it would be useful to compare my assumptions to the reviewers feedback. Best $20 I ever spent.
Screener #253 gave me a thorough evaluation that:
- Answered all of my stated questions
- Verified the things that I felt that I understood
- Gave me context of where my song does, and doesn't, fit into the Nashville scheme of things
- Gave an appraisal of what what I'd need to do to appeal to Nashville
- Gave me insight to how an objective observer perceives my song and performance (vocs, production, etc).
- Was well-crafted, thorough, and articulate.
Great job #253!
