I think what a lot of it comes down to is fear. Just like Squids was saying about preservation and Nomi was mentioning about physical compensation, which IMO is based in injury-related or recovery-related fear, is what holds so many people back. Sure, the voice may not be the same sound as it was before the surgery or injury, but with the right training and the fear removed, so much can be done. My coach in particular works mostly with those recovering from surgery, including Shirley Manson, who she worked with after her surgery. Once you get through the fear and re-learn to use those chords, great things can be done. Anyway, for myself, it only took one session with her to remove fears instilled in me by voice teachers who taught me to be afraid...my sound changed instantly and all because someone told me what I was about to do was ok. Funny how that works Yet another KG side-note..almost tangent free.

thanks nomi... very useful.. makes me wish i wasnt all the way over here in australia and could go to the rally!

I'm glad you guys got something out of the notes. Everyone tells Steven to write a book so hopefully he will someday.
