Sleigh bells patch...maybe in SampleTank 2.5 or Xpand2?

Post by leadsynth » Mon Oct 06, 2014 9:11 am

Tis the season!

I don't have tons of samples/software instruments, but surely there's a Sleigh Bells patch somewhere in SampleTank or Xpand.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Alot of drum sample packs have a sleigh bell included. Another option is to head to http://www.freesound.org and search through sleigh bells there (free). Then either copy and paste in your session on the grid or load the sound in a sample and play it.

If by chance you happen to have Kontakt, there's one that works great. The problem is they don't call it "sleigh bell" so it can be easy to miss. I believe they call it a "riq" (in the Kontakt Factory Library, under Percussion in the World section).

Soundiron Shake ($39) is a good solution. Run it in Kontakt.

You can buy those bells at any holiday store and track them through pretty much any mic. The sound is so distinctive you don't need a pristine recording, you will get the point across. Live is best if you can pull it off.
