Well, apparently the ability to take advantage of this free plug-in is dependent on having the right kind of ILok account, and my ILok is registered to another account. The download instructions say to disconnect the ILok, but when I do that, I get the message that no ILok was detected. Duh.

I really don't like or understand ILoks. Maybe there's a simple solution to dilemma, or maybe I'm supposed to buy another license. Who knows? But I guess I can do without this freebie.

I'm on the ilok site, and I don't see anything regarding authorization. I see: Move Licenses, Transfer Licenses, Download Licenses, Redeem License Code, etc. I went to Download Licenses and saw the soundtoys plugin. But under that was this message:

1. No iLok has been detected. Please connect an iLok.
Ensure your target iLok is still connected to a USB port
DO NOT remove or insert iLoks during this process or before downloading licenses
This process may take some time, a progress page will appear when it starts.
**NO LICENSES are downloaded to your iLok during this process**


2. Click "update" once your iLok is connected.

Since there IS an ilok in my computer, I clicked "Update" - and got this next message:

One connected ILok can't be used with iLok.com and this account. Reason: [It'] registered to another account. Please disconnect the iLok and click continue.

I disconnected the iLok and clicked "continue", and got the same message 1. No iLok has been detected. Etc.

Frustrating!

I had that happen with my first ilok that I bought.
It sounds like you have a new ilok.
I had to exchanged it for a new one. I don't believe yours will ever work for you
since it is registered to someone else.
Ilok will exchange it. If it's new, the retailer where you got it should take care of it.

What browser are you using?

I know I always have trouble connecting if I use anything other than Internet Explorer. Firefox, Safari, etc. all seem to have support issues with ilok. I'd try a different browser and see if you get a connection.
