Need help, So I know it is probably super easy but how do you put a splice beat etc.. into a project? I down loaded the 7.99 100 credits

If I like a beat can I save it to a folder on my desk top

Just got your message Ron.

In the Splice app’s settings, you’ll see the download folder that Splice has used for downloads. You can change to wherever you want. But the file you downloaded is there for now.

Hope that helps.

So LET ME SEE IF I GET THIS, FOR NOW SINCE I AM PAYING 7.99 A MONTH I AM JUST SORT OF RENTING THE SOUNDS.IF I USE THEM ON A TAXI PROJECT AND THE PIECE GETS FORWARDED THEN BECOMES A PLACEMENT. I NEED TO OWN THAT SOUND. IF NOT I AM GOING AGAINST COPYRIGHT LAWS FOR SPLICE. PLEASE CORRECT ME IF I AM WRONG

Wrong they are licensed to use in projects like Library Music although I would take care not to use anything as a main part that's too easily identifiable. I.E there are packs from well known artists on there like KSHMR that probably EVERYONE and his dog will grab.

You can chop things up or change notes with Melodyne etc. or you can also get midi parts off there as well, or I sometimes convert an audio part to midi in Melodyne then find a new sound. So there is plenty of scope to change stuff up

I would be careful...
I am in 1 library that said they will ban you from their library if you use any loops.
And 2 others that say they do not want any loops used.

My 2 loopy cents worth,
Tim

+1 to this. I would avoid Splice except for drum/percussion one-shots (kick samples, snares, etc.) Basically I would avoid loops. I've had similar experiences as Tim, several libraries have been getting wary of loops as too many people are using them and worse yet using them for exclusive tracks without changing them at all. I've actually had one library put in the terms of briefs say "NO SPLICE". FWIW

I respect the request of libraries for “no splice”. But I have a hard time wrapping my head around the fact that you can get most of the products found on Splice elsewhere. They have their own branded sample packs but they are also a distributor for established sample companies like Loopmasters.

So what does “no splice” actually mean? If a product you bought from Loopmasters is also available on Splice, does that make it off limits?

I dont push the issue at all, though. I only bring this up because of the discussion here. If a library specifically says no splice, i’ll make a conscious effort not to use products i got from splice. but if i have a loopmasters product that is also available from splice, i’ll avoid using melodic loops and truncate them to use them as atonal one shots in the spirit that i believe “no splice” to be understood. But thats only if I have no other choice, and thats rare.

Thats where/how I draw the line.

You’ll have to determine what you are comfortable with for yourself.
