SSD Thunderbolt Drive

Post by Lipskimusic » Tue Mar 14, 2017 10:33 am

Hi Guys,

I'm in the market for an external SSD Thunderbolt Drive for my Macbook Pro. I'm running out of space and need something to stream Kontakt, Albion asf.

It does not have to be huge (max 1TB). I have seen that Glyph seems to be a popular brand but it is not easy to get these over here in Europe.

Please let me know your thoughts. I am open to any solution that (for obvious reasons) does not include a fan :)

Cheers,
Matt

Sweetwater has Glyph drives, but I'm not sure if they ship to your location.

Glyph is known essentially for their roadworthy casings, as far as I know they don't manufacture the actual internal components.

I've been going to MacSales.com since Andy Gabrys mentioned them to me a couple of years ago. I recently upgraded my MacBook Air 256GB SSD to a 512GB, the upgrade was easy and the kit they provide turns your old 256GB into a nice external drive (thanks to the sturdy aluminum case).

I also use an external drive to store all of my projects and libraries so that my internal drive is just for the operating system and apps. Check out out the 7200 RPM 1TB drive here, or heck, look at the SSD prices here.

I've purchased from them multiple times, it's a great site.

Good luck!
