I wasn't sure how wide the range was for mid-60's songs. I submitted a British Invasion one a la The Hollies... I guess that wasn't what they were looking for.
No complaints... Thanks, Taxi, for the opportunity!

Music Supervisor (who is screening all submissions herself) U-R-G-E-N-T-L-Y NEEDS AUTHENTIC sounding Mid-1960s sounding SONGS for FEATURE FILM Placements. The film needs "songs that sound AUTHENTICALLY from that era," reports the Supervisor. She adds, "Some examples I've been given are: Roger Miller's 'King of the Road,' Bobby Darrin's 'If I Were a Carpenter,' and anything by Elvis from that period." Doing some research, we found these nifty lists to give you some ideas:http://www.musicoutfitters.com/topsongs ... 967.htmGet your Wooly Bully on kids, but note that they're NOT LOOKING FOR COVERS! And we're not suggesting for a minute that you should rip any of those classics off. But, if you've got songs that sound like they could have AUTHENTICALLY come from that era, and would be believable in a scene where somebody is turning a car radio dial and flipping past songs, you probably have what they need! ALL TEMPOS will be considered, but ballads probably won't be best in our humble opinion - not enough time to register with listeners as the radio stations are being passed by. MALE and FEMALE VOCALS are BOTH OKAY for this pitch. Broadcast Quality that sounds like it came from that era is needed (excellent home recordings are fine). You must own or control 100% of the Publishing and Master rights. This is DIRECT to the Music Supervisor, so you will KEEP 100% of the income -- NO Publisher Splits! Please submit one to three songs online or per CD, including LYRICS. ALL SUBMISSIONS will be screened on a YES/NO BASIS by the Music Supervisor HERSELF, so NO FULL CRITIQUES on this listing. THE SUPERVISOR WILL CONTACT YOU DIRECTLY IF SHE IS INTERESTED. Submissions must be received no later than TUESDAY, OCTOBER 25th, 2011 at 10:00AM (PDT). TAXI # Y111025PO
