Re: Stylus RMX vs. Addictive vs. EZdrummer...
Hey CK Barlow,I often mix Stylus with EZ. For example, I might lay down a kick/snare pattern in EZ, and then find some cool hi hat or bongo pattern in Stylus. In my mind, I hate to use just the stock rhythms of one program. I like to mix and match patterns to find my own "voice," so to speak, while at the same time maintaining the ease of using loops.

Most definitely, and you hit the point of it on the head - the intersection of unique voice and ease of use.

Well, I'll throw a little sumpin' sumpin' into the mix here. This is my latest tune to get forwarded. Everything you hear in the beginning and the steady drum beat, is Stylus. Everything you can possibly pick out percussion-wise is Stylus, as a matter of fact.Corporate HustleHere's a little somethin' that's currently pending for a listing. This uses Addictive Drums and it's MIDI loops. No major programming on my part, just built the song around the different loops. In The ZoneAnd this one is just sittin' around collectin' dust, but it utilizes a Stylus groove & EZ Drummer's Drum Kit from Hell.N Dust Real Eyz'dHope that helps to narrow it down somewhat, or hell, if you can stand it, get all three. Ya' can never be without enough drum sounds. I-468

Oh, this is fun!I have and utilize all three drum programs, i struggled for years trying to find good sounding drum software and i am completely happy now with the three.AD and EZ drummer use different mapping formats so i bought EZ player pro so i could interchange the midi files.Lately i've been going back and adding Stylus to some of my older instrumentals, it really gives them a new life!Over The Line - this was the first song i created with Stylus, i believe i only used one loop from Reason and the rest is Stylus. I didn't really tweak much, this is pretty much straight out of the boxhttp://www.taximusic.com/stream/175430/Over%20 ... e.mp3Never be the same - This was using Addictive Drumshttp://www.taximusic.com/stream/155373/Never%2 ... air-a-dice: i used EZ Drummer/ Claustrophobic kit (one of my fav kits) for this onehttp://www.taximusic.com/stream/115354/Pair-A-Dice.mp3BTW- once in a while your song "you get me" pops in my head, i only listened to it a couple of times when you first posted it. i think i'll listen to it again, nice work!

Just like any other virtual instrument, I finally figured out you need to understand the instrument in question to make it effective. I've never been much of a drummer...but I have a neighbor who is a heck of a drummer, who btw has access to a Roland MIDI kit.So without further ado, here's a track with the stock EZ Drummer, banged out by an actual drummer on drums...what a concept! http://gator-studios.com/gatormusic/Gat ... sohard.mp3

Hello CK! I have EZdrummer and I'm a little dissapointed with the selection of fills. I only have the kits that came with & I've been told the extras you can buy are much better. Seems like most people are using combinations of a few things . . . here's a track I did with Ezdrummer and a percussion loop from discrete drums. I was trying to think outside of my normal "box" on this song. . .(???!!!)http://www.billgaunce.com/song/0and an instrumental with the same drum combinationhttp://www.billgaunce.com/song/85

Bill,I have all but one of the expanders and there are a lot more and better patterns and fillsThe patterns with the expanders can be used to trigger any of the kits in any of the expanders.I can use the Harry Stinson drum patterns in Nashville to trigger the very dry kit in Claustrophobic and vice versa.I also have added some of the Groove Monkey drum patterns. You can never have enough options for drums!!!Chuck
