Submitting 1 track vs 2 or 3...
I've read in several different posts the "strategy" of submitting songs individually (one at a time) to listings, rather than sending 2 or 3 at once.Apparently, people generally get more of an in depth critique from songs submitted individually, but are there any imbedded risks in doing this? Two possibilities that come to mind are:1. If the TAXI reviewer sees that you are doing this, might they be a little annoyed/offended that you are taking this approach?2. If you get a forward, all that means is it passed TAXI's bar. You still have to impress the people back at the music library/label/publisher, etc... wouldn't it be better if 2 or 3 songs were forwarded than just one so there was a greater chance that the people at the end of the line enjoy your material? wouldn't it make TAXI appear less organized/irritating if TAXI forwarded three separate submissions from the same band, or does TAXI look out for this and "lump" them all together before sending them off?Thanksian

Re: Submitting 1 track vs 2 or 3...
I can't say what TaXI does... I submit single, double, and triple tracks based on how I feel the music is on target for the listing... I wish I had three songs ready to go for every listing and every target.... I haven't noticed any difference in my screens.... nothing I've done has been forwarded... and the screener's critiques are usually thourough and offer explanation and pointers about weaknesses... I would think if one out of three on a disk is what the listing is lookiing for it woould get the forward.... despite the other 2 might not be forwardable... of course now that I submit through braod jam.... they can just forward the one track they like....

i guess it would be helpful to know if TAXI would still forward one track out of a three-track submission if they felt the one track was right on target....or would the other 2 "weaker" tracks dilute the 1 gem to the point that they wouldn't forward any of them?

I've had forwards of just one track of 3 before, so I don't think it matters as long as one is on target.

So there is a way to tell how many of the 3 are being forwarded? I couldn't distinguish anything like that from two of my forwards so far (both had 3 songs submitted together).

On the little card I got, the songs that were forwarded were hilighted with a marker.

Does anyone know if there is a way to tell how many songs get forwarded based on the critique if it is an online submission?

I'd suggest to submit rather one track that is really on target instead of 3 tracks that "could work".Normally I submit just one track, except the listing is specifically asking for "two or three tracks" - again, important is that your submission is on target.I also had submitted 2 tracks for a listing and one got forwareded, one rejected - so that's not a problem.

Does anyone know if there is a way to tell how many songs get forwarded based on the critique if it is an online submission?Hi Ian,Most of the time in the critique it will say which song(s) got forwarded. Many times it will say all three were forwarded or the first was forwarded but not the second, etc. As for submissions without critiques if I remember correctly it doesn't necessarily specify. In which case I always just take the best case scenario of all 3 -Theresa
