Summer song forward

Post by shanegrla » Tue Mar 18, 2014 6:20 pm

Hi everybody. My song "Lazy Summer" (on my Taxi page) got forwarded to this one:

SONGS in ANY GENRE with lyric themes about SUMMER are U-R-G-E-N-T-L-Y needed by a very successful Music Library pitching for an upcoming TV promo for a Major Broadcast Network about their new summer line-up. They’re searching for songs in ALL genres, ALL tempos, with Male or Female vocals. Your Song, whether contemporary or retro sounding, has to have strong hooks and catch phrases about Summer. Simple songs with just a few instruments could work, and well as full band recordings. Emotionally uplifting summer vibe songs are what they need! Make them feel great that summer is on the way, and this network has some awesome new shows that will make your summer even more fun. They’re NOT looking for jingles that say stuff like, “Summer is here, and we’ve got a great new lineup for you!” That would be too “on the nose.” Quoting the source: “I’m looking for some music for our summer campaign. No particular genre. Ideally, some kind of cool lyrics that tie into summer. The campaign covers comedy, reality, drama, sports, and news.” Keep your lyrics universal and focused on summer themes. Please avoid references to specific names, dates, times, places, brands, and profanity. Steer clear of song lyrics with long, drawn-out storylines. This opportunity is for a TV Network Promo spot, so you’ll most likely have between 30–90 seconds for your lyric concept to pay off. Get to the point quickly! They’re looking for big, simple, memorable lyric themes about summer. Please make sure your songs pack a strong punch. Your vocal and instrumental performance should be Top-Notch for this pitch! Broadcast Quality is needed (great sounding home recordings are fine). Simple Please submit full-length songs with vocals. Instrumentals are NOT needed at this time, but you’d be wise to have an instrumental version on standby in case they need it for editing purposes. This company has an excellent track record of placements on all 4 Major Broadcast Networks, and some really cool Hollywood Film Trailers as well. If your songs have buttoned endings and great hit (edit) points that could be a plus! The specific deal points will be negotiated on a Song-by-Song basis directly with the Library. This Library offers an Exclusive deal. Please be sure the songs you submit are NOT already signed to any other Libraries or Catalogs. You must own or control 100% of the Master and Composition rights to submit for this pitch. All submissions will be screened on a Yes/No basis. No full critiques. Please submit one to three songs online or per CD no later than TODAY, Monday, March 17th, by 5:45pm (PDT). TAXI #U140317SS

Been lookin' to get some inroads on a broadcast network, hoping that they might pay a little bit more. This could be pretty cool. 8-)

Shane, cool song. I like the chords a lot (and everything else). Sort of reminds me of Spin Doctors' sound a bit. Anyways, good luck with a placement.
